This wood frame addition encloses a new 2-stop elevator.  The strategy of providing the elevator within a small addition to the home eliminated many of the interior alterations and renovations that would have been necessary, had a new elevator shaft and fire-rated enclosure been proposed within the envelop of the existing structure.

The walnut paneled cab and brass fittings selected for the elevator complement the decor of the existing residence.
