This assignment was focused on the redesign of the reception and waiting areas to accommodate electronic check-in stations; reorganization of staff office areas to free-up space for new exam rooms; and improvement of patient waiting areas. Because it was important to minimize the number of business days that Health Services would be closed to patients during the renovation process,
Casentini Incorporated specified that all new partitioning requirements be met using systems furniture. This greatly reduced the number of field construction hours required to transform the space, which made it possible for most of the construction and installation to occur over a long weekend period.
New furnishings specified for the suite included self serve electronic check-in kiosks, staffed check-in stations, a staffed check-out station, and new patient seating.
